Great to see lots of new faces today! We had some hiccups but overall I think things went pretty well.

Since this was a fun event there was no classing, just a day of FUN RUNS.

Hope to see some of those new faces out at our next event on Bell Island on August 1st!

BIG thanks to Capital Mitsubishi for sponsoring the event!

Here's how we got on around the track:

Raw Times:

Overall Results:

Post your pictures up in this thread! There is some over on NFMS already: http://newfoundlandmotorsports.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=24&t=36632

No pics, but how about a video?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AD2CRcFr5n0

Must say, didn't think I was that fast, but I'll take it Laughing Sorry about the wind noise in the video...wanted to get it online as quickly as I could.

Thanks to the organizers and Capital Mitsu for the sponsorship to secure the venue. It was nice to meet some new folks too!

Mike and I both had a great time today! It was awesome to see the huge turnout and all the interest in AutoX. Like Greg said, hope to see a lot of those people again at future events. I didn't get any action shots but I got a couple videos. They can be seen here:

Enjoy!!!

Would it be possible to apply classing to the results to?

I'm just wondering how the old Evo did stacked against the newer cars.

Edit:Look at Mr Targa(JC) Razz .....all of his runs were within 1 sec and on each run he was getting faster. You know your dialed in when......

Pretty cool Justin, thats the way to do it.

Sure thing Paul, just go ahead and let me know the correct class for every car in the list and i'll enter them into the computer and generate the new results.

Yeah having the classing info is definitely not happening, there was NO WAY to get everyone's info yesterday, with people showing up at all times and getting their runs in, combined with the fact that there were nearly 40 cars that ran, a lot of them new to the events, it would have been next to impossible.

Plus, including classing info would put me wellllllll down that list, so let's keep as is hey??

On a side note, I had a great time yesterday, as I think most other people did, it was nice to see that much interest, both from spectators and drivers.

Yep, classing would have been a nightmare hence why we didn't bother. That being said, here are some "unofficial" numbers based on what I remember about some people's classes:

    mike: 35.84
    doody: 36.29
    JC: 36.91
    greg: 37.06
    dick: 37.67
    ian: 37.72
    Paul: 38.47
    JR: 38.72
    luc: 39.24
    Andy: 39.40
    Jerry: 39.55

Clear sign that Doody needs a set of Rcomps.

I just found tout that the new Chair of the arena Board works here and I know him reasonably well and we have a good rapport. I will put the sales pitch on him..... for future events on the lot only.

once again big kudos to Capital Mitsu for opening this venue door!

now if I could get an issue worked out with my GLI to facilitate a viable trade in, I will be rocking a Ralliart.

They have a new arena manager now too and he was already talking about "next time we'll have the canteen open for you" yesterday after the event, so I think we may be in luck for future events!! Very Happy

Yeah everyone seemed to have a good time. I guess the cops showed up because someone thought there was a bunch of punks over on the lot doing doughnuts. Once Paul went over they left. Better to be doing it on the lot and organized then some of the punk street racers around. Better to kill a cone then a pedestrian.

Only for I didn't know what time i had to go get the GF i would have said screw it and jumped in line. See how much of a difference the 2.4L Lancer is to the 2.0. Maybe if i have a free weekend in August (might have a few weddings to go to) I'll pop over and see you guys on Bell Island. I'll post some pics later this evening.

Great panning shots, what shutter speed are you using? I went there just to try out some panning and ended up under the bus all day.

Beautiful shots guys!

wytwolf...what's your flickr page? You know that we're all going to be begging / offering to buy those shots Smile

Note to self...next time...turn the radio off so that the antenna goes down. I had it turned down anyway.

Ha-ha, yes I guess Photoshop could do that, or I could just get it done in black and white. No worries, I will fix that with some fresh paint at the end of the season, she'll look good in dolphin grey Smile
