TARGA NEWFOUNDLAND - Challenge Award

Throughout the past number of years Vinland Motorsport Inc. and Targa Newfoundland have partnered to bring world-class racing to the grassroots level.Through the Targa Cup Challenge a Vinland participant is provided the opportunity to compete in the Targa Newfoundland; one of only three tarmac events of this nature offered world-wide.

Vinland Motorsports is pleased to announce that Robert Giannou through Targa Newfoundland has continued to be a mentor to the local community once again by offering a Targa entry to be awarded to the driver who demonstrates the greatest skill throughout the 2009 Targa Cup Challenge; a prize valued at almost $6500.

Vinland has seen substantial growth in its Solo2 membership throughout the past season, and we hope to further increase these numbers in the years to come. Timed events serve not only as a invaluable tool, enabling competitors to increase their confidence and skill behind the wheel, but these new found skills create safer drivers on public roads.

A vehicle classification system similar to Targa ensures all members are on a level playing field, wehter one brings out the stock family econo box, or a fully race prepared Targa car; ultimately, one’s victory is based upon driver skill. We at Vinland Motorsports encourage any and all motorsport fans to join in the excitement for the 2009 season,come join us on May 9th for our Test n Tune/School.
